Huckleberry

Huckleberry was born at Haven Mountain. Huckleberry’s mother, Beatrice, came to us in the winter of 2024. She was pregnant. The vet couldn’t say how long the pregnancy would take, and they couldn’t say what the baby was going to be. And no one expected the little bundle of energy that showed up one spring morning.

Huckleberry represents everything we want for our animal friends. He’ll never know the mistreatment that his mother knew. He’ll never be without food and water, he’ll not be kicked or prodded or beaten with a club. He’ll not be taken from his mother the moment he becomes valuable. Huckleberry will never know a human that mistreats him.
