How We Make A Difference

One person with one horse met one person with a horse barn. They bonded over their desire to help horses in distress. The barn quickly filled with rescued horses and other equines, and these two people covered the costs and care. The care they provided and their passion for standing up on behalf of distressed and neglected equines became contagious. The impact they created in changing the lives of these animals rippled out through the community, and more people wanted to get involved.

Haven Mountain Sanctuary at Destiny Farm was created to grow this arrangement. By operating as an LLC with non-profit status Haven Mountain gains the organizational structure required to pursue funding through grants, partnerships, and donations. As well as the ability to expand both its operations and its influence in the community.

  • We intervene in situations of animal neglect or abuse,

  • We provide a positive, humane environment for the animals in our care.

  • We work to prevent inhumane conditions through community organizing, education, and political action in our effort to address animal cruelty before it begins.
