A pig on the loose through Blowing Rock

This pig probably lived down the mountain in Ashe county, but when Hurricane Helene came through Western North Carolina and the waters started rising, this pig ran for the hills.

Seymour showed up in Blowing Rock, tired and hungry. He popped up behind a butcher’s shop, ran through neighborhoods, and it’s rumored that he even strutted down main street. He developed quite a following on social media as people showed their concern and compassion for a distressed and homeless animal.

Eventually, Animal Control was able to apprehend Seymour and bring him to Haven Mountain where he could finally relax. Our little celebrity pig is settling in nicely. His whole ordeal is documented in the video below.
